- There is no blood on the umbilicus, and the healing is good.Clean around the cloaca.Abdominal absorption is good, the belly is moderate in size, and there is no deformity in the beak, eyes, legs, and claws.
Listen to the chicken
- The body weight meets the requirements of the breed: lively and active, with a loud and clear voice, and with great eyes.
- Hold the chick in your hand, with elasticity and strong struggling force, or lift the chick’s two paws upside down within 4 hours after hatching, with a strong turning force to the back of the hand.
二.Precautions for choosing chicks
Picking Chicken Manufacturers
- The scale of the chicken seedling manufacturers who choose the big manufacturers with good reputation determines the quality of the chicken seedlings. When buying chicks, try to choose chicks from big manufacturers with high reputation and good reputation.
- Check the purification degree of the breeders in advance. Most of the chickens are vertically transmitted. If there is no problem with the feeding and management, but there are many cases of marek or reticuloendothelial hyperplasia in a batch of chickens, it may be a problem with the chicken seedlings (this batch of seeds vertical transmission of diseases in chickens), it is best not to select chicks hatched from this hatchery or from the same batch of breeders.
- The transportation time of chicks should not exceed 24 hours. The investigation shows that the short transportation distance will cause less stress to the chicks, while the longer distance will cause too much stress to the chicks. The longer the transportation time, the greater the adverse effect on the chicks. When the transportation time exceeds 24 hours, it will affect the body weight of the chicks in the previous week, which will be detrimental to the growth of the chicks. Therefore, when chicken farmers choose chicks, try not to choose chicks from hatcheries that have a transportation distance of more than 24 hours.
Picking healthy chicks
- Select varieties with excellent and stable production performance. When selecting varieties, try to choose more mature varieties that have been tested by the market.
- Identify the quality of chicks. Chicken farmers should be able to identify the quality of chickens and be aware of them. Good chicks have the following 6 characteristics: (1). The fluff is clean and shiny; (2). Lively and active, and the eyes are bright; (3). The cry is crisp; (4). Struggle hard when holding it in the hand; (5.) The uniformity of the flock is high;(6).the size difference is not big.
The above are the methods and precautions for raising chickens to select chicks. For chicken farmers, if they want to obtain good economic benefits, the selection of chicks is a very critical step. When chicken farmers buy chicken seedlings, they should take a long-term view, do not buy too cheap chicken seedlings, and do not be greedy for petty cheap.
